Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 16 game

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-7) put their three-game win streak on the line when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-6) in Week 16 action.

Last week, the Buccaneers had a huge win at Lambeau Field when they upset the Green Bay Packers 34-20. It was their second-most points scored this season as Baker Mayfield had a season-high 381 passing yards, only 16 away from his career-best. He also threw four touchdowns, his most in a game this season.

The Jaguars are riding a three-game losing streak as their grip on first place in the AFC South loosens. Last week, they fell to the Baltimore Ravens 23-7. Trevor Lawrence went into concussion protocol after putting up 305 total yards and a passing touchdown. His status for Sunday's game is uncertain.

Lorenzo Reyes: Buccaneers 21, Jaguars 17

The Jaguars have lost three in a row and have failed to cover each of those. Trevor Lawrence’s play has been uneven, especially when his ability to scramble is hampered. Most concerning is that Doug Pederson appears to have lost his edge with regards to in-game management decisions.

Tyler Dragon: Jaguars 24, Buccaneers 20

Trevor Lawrence hasn’t missed a start in his NFL career, but a concussion has his status in doubt. These teams are going in opposite directions at the moment. The Bucs have won three in a row and the Jags have lost three straight games. If Lawrence plays and the Jaguars can execute in the red zone, Jacksonville should win the intrastate matchup.

Safid Deen: Buccaneers 24, Jaguars 20

Baker Mayfield is coming off one the best performances of his career, while the Jaguars are reeling. Even if Trevor Lawrence (concussion protocol) is healthy enough to play, I like the Bucs’ momentum to carry into this week.

Victoria Hernandez: Buccaneers 25, Jaguars 23

The Buccaneers showed why no one should be counting them out by winning back-to-back road games. They now return home to face an inconsistent Jaguars team that only scored seven points in last week’s loss. Trevor Lawrence went into concussion protocol after the game and has dealt with other injuries this season while Baker Mayfield is having Tampa Bay fans ask, “Tom Brady who?” Okay, maybe not, but he is doing a nice job.

Jordan Mendoza: Jaguars 26, Buccaneers 24

In desperate need of a win to keep the lead in the AFC South, Jacksonville will play desperate football against a team clicking at the right time. This time, the Jaguars offense wakes up and squeaks by a win against their in-state opponent.
