Arizona Cardinals at Chicago Bears: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 16 game

The Chicago Bears (5-9) and the Arizona Cardinals (3-11) seek to rebound in Week 16 at Soldier Field.

Both teams lost last week as the Bears dropped a 20-17 thriller to the Cleveland Browns while the Cardinals' game wasn't quite as close. They fell to the San Francisco 49ers 45-29 as their defense was steamrolled by San Francisco's high-powered offense.

The Cardinals are out of playoff contention, but the Bears have a paper-thin chance of making the postseason as no one from the NFC North has clinched a spot yet. With three wins in their last five games, they are no longer vying for the No. 1 draft spot.

Will the Bears capture the home win? Or will the Cardinals rain on their postseason parade?

Lorenzo Reyes: Bears 27, Cardinals 20

Chicago boasts the NFL’s top rushing defense. This will come in handy when trying to hem Kyler Murray in the pocket. But with Justin Fields running out of chances to prove his worth as the team’s franchise quarterback, I’m expecting him to be sharp here.

Tyler Dragon: Bears 21, Cardinals 20

These two teams are in similar rebuilding situations. Players on both squads are auditioning for 2024 jobs. But Matt Eberflus has the Bears playing better football as of late; Chicago’s won two of its last three games.

Safid Deen: Bears 27, Cardinals 20

This could be a shootout between Justin Fields and Kyler Murray, but the Cardinals are one of the worst road teams in the NFL. Expect big days from Chicago’s D.J. Moore and Cole Kmet in this one.

Victoria Hernandez: Bears 24, Cardinals 17

It’s actually expected to be a mild 51 degrees in Chicago on Christmas Eve day, but that will still be cold for the Cardinals. And the weather is just one of their many problems as Kyler Murray has yet to find his stride. Justin Fields and the Bears barely missed out on their third straight win and should capture this home victory.

Jordan Mendoza: Bears 27, Cardinals 19

Dropped Hail Mary aside, Chicago is playing good football recently and Justin Fields is still making the case for him to be the franchise quarterback. Add another note to his résumé with the Bears getting their third win in their last four games.
