Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 16 game
The Kansas City Chiefs (9-5) take their turn hosting the Las Vegas Raiders (6-8) in an AFC West matchup at Arrowhead Stadium in one of three Christmas Day games.
Both teams are vying for a playoff spot. The Chiefs' chances are much better than the Raiders, who would need a Christmas miracle to make the postseason.
Last week, Kansas City beat the New England Patriots 27-17 to hand Bill Belichick his worst season of his coaching career. Patrick Mahomes had two interceptions, including one off a botched Kadarius Toney catch, for the third time this year as he continues to struggle to connect with his receivers.
The Raiders went from 0 to 60 real quick with a 63-21 smearing of the Los Angeles Chargers, a franchise record for most points scored in a game. The win came just a week after they lost 3-0 to the Minnesota Vikings. In the win, rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns and Davante Adams had his second 100-yard receiving game of the season. Josh Jacobs was out with a quad injury.
When the Chiefs played the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Week 12, they came back for a 31-17 win. Las Vegas had a 14-point lead in the second quarter and Jacobs had 110 rushing yards, his second 100-yard game of the season. His status is uncertain for the rematch.

Lorenzo Reyes: Chiefs 24, Raiders 19
Kansas City still has a depth issue at receiver and has the worst offense we’ve seen since Patrick Mahomes took over the operation. The Raiders just scored again in their Thursday game against the Chargers. In all seriousness, I think this one stays closer, though I think the Chiefs are a safe bet.
Tyler Dragon: Chiefs 28, Raiders 20
Two of Kansas City’s last three games are against divisional opponents. Patrick Mahomes is 30-4 in his career against the AFC West. The Chiefs need more production out of wide receivers Kadarius Toney, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and perhaps even Justyn Ross.
Safid Deen: Chiefs 26, Raiders 17
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have struggled all season offensively, and are facing a Raiders team fresh off a 60-point performance. But the Chiefs aren’t the Chargers – far from it. Kansas City wins at home.
Victoria Hernandez: Chiefs 28, Raiders 20
The Chiefs had to come back against the Raiders in Las Vegas in their first matchup this season and have had hiccups in their last few games. But returning home with the AFC West title on the line should lead to a solid win. As long as Patrick Mahomes doesn’t throw to Kadarius Toney.
Jordan Mendoza: Chiefs 26, Raiders 17
It’s safe to say the Raiders won’t put up around the same amount of points it did against the Chargers. While riding high, the Kansas City defense makes life tough for Las Vegas to get going, so Taylor Swift gets to celebrate a Christmas Day win.
